Fuel is running out in Gaza hospitals

Despite recent announcements that there would be a drastic increase in the number of hours of electicity provided by the Gaza power plant, hospital personnel say that fuel is running out and that the shortage is putting people's lives in danger. At highest risk are kidney dialysis patients, premature babies and patients in the intensive care units, whose survival depends on machines. A doctor interviewed for this report cites internal divisions among Palestinian forces as the predominant factor in the crisis. Other key factors are the Israeli blockade and Egypt's closure of the Rafah crossing point to medical supplies and delegations wishing to provide support. Noor Harazeen reports from Gaza for teleSUR.
