Pakistan successfully test fires indigenous armed drone

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has successfully test fired an indigenous developed armed drone “Burraq” and a laser-guided missile “Barq” on Friday, Army spokesman said.



Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa, on Twitter said that Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif witnessed the test fire on static and moving target with ‘impressive pinpoint accuracy in all weathers and multiplies capability against terrorists’.
The Army Chief commended engineers and scientists for their untiring efforts to acquire an state of the art technology that can put Pakistan in a league of its own.



He termed it a great national achievement and momentous occasion, adding that the new technology would prove a multiplier in the ongoing anti-terrorism campaign and operations.



Gen Raheel also congratulated the nation, scientists and technicians involved in developing the indigenous drone.



“Let’s join hands to take Pakistan forward in our respective fields,” he added.
