Pax Ellevate Management has asked those companies in its Global Women?s Index Fund that have not yet signed on to the UN?s Women?s Empowerment Principles to join up. The request is being made in advance of the annual Women?s Empowerment Principles event, to be held this year on March 10th and 11th in New York. The Principles, an initiative of the UN Global Compact and UN Women, are guidelines for companies on how to empower women in the workplace.

The Pax Ellevate Global Women?s Index Fund is the first mutual fund in the U.S. that focuses investments on companies that are leaders in advancing women through gender diversity on their boards, in executive management, and through other policies and programs, including endorsement of the Principles. Among the Index companies, women hold 29 percent of board seats and 21 percent of senior management positions, compared to the averages of 12 and 11 percent. Companies in the Fund include Avon, Procter & Gamble, Westpac Banking, Xerox, Deutsch Telekom, and AstraZeneca.
