On Wednesday, police in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho arrested a 36-year-old North Idaho College administrator for allegedly offering grant or scholarship money in exchange for sexual acts.

On Wednesday, police in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho arrested a 36-year-old North Idaho College administrator.

Joseph M. Bekken is facing a number of felonies such as "attempted procurement of prostitution, attempted misuse of public funds, burglary, bribery and using a computer in a scheme to defraud."

His arrest came following an investigation into an unusual Craigslist casual encounters ad in which the poster simply noted "Hello, I have a proposition for NIC students. Email me and we can discuss."

After the post was discovered, a number of law enforcement agencies including the FBI worked together and contacted the North Idaho College administration to set up a fictitious student email account.
