Almost a year ago, when James Simmons started his goal of climbing every 5.12 route in American Fork Canyon he realized the quest was so large it needed a strong plan! He worked it out so that he would do all the hardest routes first - the 5.12d's/5.13a's - then work his way down.
Winter in Utah has its setbacks for climbers. The cold weather keeps James out of the canyon for longer than expected. He wanted to be able to have a spring time insight massacre of all the 5.12a's and b's, but realizing his deadline is just around the corner and seeing on how many more hard 12's he needs to do, it looks like his project is gonna come down to the wire.
Watch him struggle through Black Magic and the most heinous undercling we've seen in a long, long time.
