Multiple Jordanian airstrikes 'destroy ISIL targets' in Syria

‘Just the beginning,’ announced the Jordanian military following heavy aerial assaults on Syria.

Tens of fighter jets pounded key ISIL bases on Thursday (February 5), according to a statement from the armed forces.

Prior to take off, members of Jordan’s armed forces could be seen writing messages on missiles condemning the militant group.

“Islam has no relation with you, Da’esh (ISIL),” they read. “We are beating them.”

The rockets are then believed to have been used to destroy several ISIL-run ammunition depots and training camps.

A military official said the strikes focussed on a number of targets around the northern Syrian city of Raqqa.
