Greeks like the sound of Syriza talking tough, but hope it has more than just words to offer

Greeks have woken up to the fact that it is all change and Syriza is ready to play hardball with the country’s creditors following yesterday’s meeting with the Troika in Athens.
It produced the declaration that the Troika was dead as Syriza said it will henceforth negotiate with the IMF, ECB, and the EU as separate entities as it seeks a blend of debt write-off, rescheduling, and better terms for the hundreds of billions of euros Greece owes.
“If there is no other proposal, of course, it worries me. The disagreement with the troika doesn’t bother me at all, but I would
like the Greek government to come up with an alternative,” said one local man.
“I mean, I don’t know if it worries me, I just know that the Greek people have suffered a lot. So I understand why Syriza came to
power and why they voted for them. Regarding what will happen, I
only hope for the best, and I hope they know what they are doing,” said one young woman.
