The outstanding Cuban educator, Leonela Relys Diaz, creator of the 'Yo si puedo' (Yes, I can) literacy instruction method, passed away from cancer on Saturday at the age of 68. More than 8 million people learned how to read and write with her method in countries such as Bolivia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Guinea Bissau among others. teleSUR
