In 2013, he won the Titanium Lion Prize at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for leading the suicide-prevention advertising campaign, 'Bridge of Life.' In 2012, he was the sole Korean judge participating in an initiative called the Cannes Chimera, which aims to harness creative solutions for global issues from participants all over the world.
Kim Hong-tack has received much attention worldwide for his work in advertising and as a pioneer of digital platform marketing.
After joining Cheil Worldwide, a marketing solutions company, in 1995, he played a key role in ushering Korean advertising onto the global stage. He has won close to 100 awards at top advertising awards festivals, including the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Korean advertising has begun to gain recognition around the world in the past 3 to 4 years, and Kim Hong-tack stands at the center of it. Throughout his career he has helped his colleagues develop new sensibilities about advertising, and has raised the value of many Korean brands.
