Passengers from stricken ship arrive in Italy's Bari

STORY: Passengers rescued from a stricken car ferry arrived in the Italian port city of Bari on Monday (December 29), and were taken to a centre for health evaluation, said a coast guard official.
Dozens of rescued passengers, including children and the elderly, arrived in Bari on a cargo ship and were given blankets by rescue personnel before being taken to the centre for evaluation.
Helicopter crews have been slowly airlifting passengers from the upper deck of the Norman Atlantic, which caught fire in the early hours of Sunday (December 30), and began drifting in rough seas between Greece and Italy.
Rescue teams working through the night have pulled 265 people off the stricken car ferry which caught fire off the coast of Greece but more than 200 are stranded on board, the Italian navy said on Monday.
