Two dead after merchant ships collide off Italy's Ravenna

STORY: The body of a victim is brought to the Italian port of Ravenna on Sunday (December 28) after two merchant ships collided in rough seas off the Italian Adriatic coast, leaving two people drowned and four missing, Italian media reported.
A Turkish ship sank after colliding with a vessel carrying a Belize flag in poor visibility around a mile from the Italian Adriatic port of Ravenna, an Italian coastguard official said.
Rescuers from boats and helicopters saved four of the 11 crew members aboard the Turkish ship and had located and were trying to assist four others, the coastguard said on Sunday afternoon.
Rescue workers could be seen recovering the body of the second victim from a rescue vessel and placing the body in a temporary coffin for transport as dusk fell over the port of Ravenna.
The Mayor of Ravenna said the dead and missing were all Turkish men from the ship Gokbel.
