Police have released surveillance footage of an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Berkeley, Missouri.

Police have released surveillance footage of an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Berkeley, Missouri.

What is known at this time is that at about 11pm on December 23rd an officer pulled into a Mobil station as part of a routine check and exited his vehicle when he saw two males near the building.

As he approached, one of them drew a handgun and pointed it at him.

The officer responded by firing a quick succession of shots, resulting in the fatal wounding of one of the men and the fleeing of the other.

Antonio Martin, who was 18 years of age, has been identified as the victim.

The handgun he pointed at the officer has been recovered.

Police from St. Louis County and nearby cities were called to the scene.

Shortly after the incident occurred, news crews and citizens began to show up at the site as well.

An ongoing investigation into the shooting is being conducted by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit.
