Detectives are desperately trying to find the individual responsible for killing 19-year-old Jessica Chambers from Mississippi. The teen passed away at a hospital after she was set on fire.

Prior to the incident, Chambers was last seen at a gas station on Saturday night. About 90 minutes later, a passerby saw her car on fire in a wooded area and alerted authorities.

Firefighters arrived on the scene quickly and spoke to Chambers. Reportedly, she gave them a lead in the case before she died. Detectives have remained tight-lipped about the probe, but they have revealed that an accelerant was used to start the fire.

Her mother said Chambers had plans to clean her car and get something to eat on the night she was killed. Police are working around the clock to determine who she spoke to or possibly had plans with before the murder.

District Attorney John Champion commented “I’ve been doing this 21 years now. And as far as the manner of death, this is certainly one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. We’re bringing folks in to interview, talking to different potential witnesses.”

No arrests have been made and no persons of interest were named. Chambers’ family and community members who knew her are left struggling to come to terms with her tragic death.
