CCTV footage recently captured a terrifying ordeal when a toddler rolled onto train tracks in Melbourne, Australia.
The little girl had been seated in her stroller on the platform. The adult male who was with her was standing next to the stroller, but his back was turned and his attention reportedly focused on the ticket machine.
In a matter of seconds, the stroller started to roll towards the tracks and plummeted off the platform. The child landed face first onto the tracks.
The male turned, headed over to the edge and climbed down onto the tracks to rescue her. Other bystanders also rushed over to help.
According to a witness, the child had an evident injury near her eye socket and she was bleeding from her nose when she was removed from the tracks.
The toddler was rushed to the hospital where her condition is listed as stable and it has been determined her injuries are minor.
In light of the incident, a Metro spokeswoman remarked “We can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure the brake is on and to never look away. It also shows how important it is to strap children in.”
