Colombian peace process remains stalled over ceasefire

Leaders of the various groups involved in Colombia's peace talks met in Havana, Cuba yesterday in search of a starting point for renewal of the dialogues, but hit a snag when the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) conditioned continuance of the talks on a bilateral ceasefire. The FARC have continuously requested a ceasefire since November, 2012, but to date, the Colombian government has been unwilling to agree to this condition. Negotiations continue today. teleSUR
