Guidelines for racial profiling to be updated

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced plans on Monday to release new guidelines to limit racial profiling by federal law officials.

Holder spoke to a group at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta- the same church where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave sermons.

At one point a group of protesters interrupted his speech with shouts of 'No justice, no peace!'

After they were escorted out, Holder commented on the incident calling it a genuine expression of concern and involvement.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) US ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER SAYING:

"and it is through that level of concern and I hope a level of perseverance and commitment that change ultimately will come. So let me be clear, I ain't mad at you."

The new guidelines are part of the administration's response to increased tension between law enforcement and minority communities in the wake of the events in Ferguson Missouri.
