Video shows fatal shooting of US boy

This video shows the moments leading up to the fatal shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice by police in Cleveland last Saturday.
Officers were responding to an emergency call which reported that someone at a park was pointing a gun at people.
Rice was holding a pellet gun, which looks like a semiautomatic pistol but typically shoots plastic pellets.
Police shot the boy within two seconds of their car pulling up.
Cleveland's Deputy Chief Ed Tomba said what happened was tragic.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) DEPUTY CHIEF ED TOMBA SAYING:
"This is not an effort to exonerate. It's not an effort to show the public that anybody did anything wrong. This is an obvious tragic event where a young member of our community lost their life. We've got two officers out there protecting the public do something that nobody wants to do."
