Gazans celebrate, Israel condemns Jerusalem synagogue attack

They're celebrating in Gaza....praising the men they call martyrs who attacked and killed four worshippers at a Jerusalem synagogue, before themselves being killed by Israeli soldiers in a dramatic shootout.

It was the latest in a series of violent attacks, that began with a dispute over access to a Jerusalem shrine, sacred to both Jews and Muslims.

According to witnesses, 25 Jewish worshippers were praying, when two Palestinian men, armed with a meat-cleaver and gun, burst into the the room and launched their attack.

The Israeli government calls it a terrorist incident.

The Palestinian Authority says it condemns what it calls the "attack on Jewish worshippers in one of their places of prayer..and condemns the killing of civilians no matter who is doing it."

But the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the goup claiming responsibility, calls it a "heroic operation.".
