Vermaelen still recovering from injury three months after signing with Barça

Barcelona, 13 Nov (EFE).- Belgian central defender Thomas Vermaelen has yet to play or train with this teammates three months after signing for FC Barcelona when the club paid 10 million euros for a five year contract plus another five million in performance bonuses and 3.8 million if the team wins two Champions Leagues in five years.
Even though Vermaelen arrived at Barcelona injured after taking part in the World Cup in Brazil, technical director Andoni Zubirarreta referred to the defender at his presentation as a player who will "perform immediately".
Not only did he thank the footballer for choosing Barcelona "because he had other offers", Zubizarreta said he was "our choice" because "he responded to the profile of a player we wanted."
According to the club's website, for the third consecutive day, six first team players, Masip, Montoya, Douglas, Xavi, Alves and Adriano, trained together with Sergi Roberto, who has yet to be ruled fit by club doctors, and Under 18A
