United Nations assigns committee to investigate Israeli attacks

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has assembled a five member panel to investigate Israeli attacks on its facilities during the recent Gaza offensive that left 2,100 Palestiians dead, many of them civilians and at least 500 of them children. The panel will also investigate the presence of Hamas' weapons hidden at UN facilities in the strip. The UN Human Rights Council also plans to carry out an investigation into the latest devastation wrought on Gaza by Israel. teleSUR
