19 year old American student Lauren Hill who is terminally ill with an inoperable brain tumour has always wanted to play for her college basketball team. And her dream came true on Sunday November 2, when not only did she join Ohio's Mount Saint Joseph University squad, she also made the opening basket of the match. The story has been widely discussed online with web users across the United States praising Lauren Hill for her bravery.
Social networks are abuzz with posts from regular web users and also some well-known faces from the sporting world, including basketball star LeBron James, and former tennis player Billie Jean King who say Lauren Hill is as an inspiration for anyone battling cancer.
