It’s October - time for pumpkins, costumes, scary décor, candy and evidently Christmas trees. Even though Santa isn’t coming for another 2 months, many stores are putting up their Christmas displays earlier this year, right in time for the Halloween season.

The trend isn’t just limited to one particular company or seasonal shop. This is a widespread thing across the country and it’s happening in big box enterprises and small stores alike.

Social media users from all over the place have been posting photos of Christmas trees, cartoon inflatables decked out as good old Saint Nick, ornaments, festive blankets and wreaths in stores like Target and Macy’s just to name a few.

Then you have the Christmas-themed shops that are opening doors more than a month before the Black Friday chaos sets in. Callisters Christmas ornament shop is an example and one recently opened in Wisconsin’s Fox River Mall.

Michele Malvich is part owner of that business. She offers some insight into the Christmas in October craze stating “It's trending that people want to shop earlier this year. They're able to come in and enjoy it. If you shop in December, you shop under pressure.”

What do you think, does seeing red and green lights two months before the holiday make you happy or stressed?
