Criminal opportunists are always waiting for that perfect moment when an innocent person forgets one of their belongings. Shortly after 11 a.m. on October 2, surveillance cameras inside Philadelphia’s Guadalupe grocery store captured a man who allegedly stole a customer’s Verizon tablet, valued at 550 dollars.

The victim had been standing near the checkout. He placed his tablet on the counter and paid for the items from the shop.

The clerk gave him his change and the man, seemingly preoccupied, walked out of the store without his device.

The suspect had been behind the victim in line. He saw the tablet lying there. Right after handing over his items to the store staffer, he nonchalantly lifted the tablet and slid it under his clothing, near his back.

Even after doing that, the male didn’t seem to be in any hurry to leave. He successfully made it out of the store before cops were alerted.

Philadelphia police describe him as an African American in his late teens to early 20s. During the crime, he wore a burgundy shirt and blue jeans.
