Syrian Kurds resist Islamic State in Kobani

Kurdish resistance fighters seem to be holding their own against Islamic State (IS) militants in the Kobani region of Syria close to the Turkish borde. Since fighting broke out three weeks ago, nearly 180,000 Syrian Kurds have fled to Turkey and at least 400 people have been killed.
