65-year-old Gérard Depardieu is a well known French actor and vineyard owner. In an interview, he recently talked about his drinking habits.

Depardieu claimed that he can consume up 14 bottles of wine in one day. He told Britain's So Film movie magazine “When I'm bored, I drink. Apart from compulsory moments of abstinence… But if ever I start drinking I can't drink like a normal person. I can absorb 12, 13, 14 bottles per day.”

With that surprising confession, he also said he wasn't totally drunk even after drinking vast amounts of alcohol. Heart surgery was performed on Depardieu back in 2000.

As part of the interview, he said because of that procedure along with cholesterol and other factors, he has to be careful with his drinking. Prior to his operation, he talked to his doctor about his consumption.

He typically started the day with a bottle of champagne before ten in the morning. After that he would have some liquor followed by food with up to two bottles of wine.

Champagne, beer and the remainder of the liquor bottle would be finished in the afternoon. Vodka or some whiskey were usually guzzled at night. Although he confessed to drinking many times in his day, Depardieu says there’s much more to life than being buzzed.
