Dunya News - Pak Army continues flood relief operation on 5th consecutive day

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday visited Head Qadirabad to oversee the ongoing flood relief operation and said that the Pakistan Army will leave no stone unturned to evacuate those trapped in the floods, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, Pakistan Army’s flood relief efforts continued on the fifth consecutive day. Thousands of trapped affectees have been rescued and transferred to the safer locations. The ration and medical goods are being distributed among the affected people.
The army has successfully rescued as many as sixteen thousand three hundred and eighty three persons so far. The Corps Commander Gujranwala Lieutenant General Saleem Nawaz visited Jalalpur Bhattiyan and Pindi Bhattiyan where at leadt three thousand three hundred and fifty five people were rescued through boats and helicopters on emergency basis.
Food items, ration along with the medical care are also being distributed by the armed forces. At least five thousand five hundred and seventy six kilogram of dry ration has been distributed by the army.
