Ex-Syria hostage says his captor was Belgium shooting suspect

New details are emerging about the Frenchman accused of killing four people at a Jewish museum in Brussels.

French journalist and former hostage in Syria, Nicolas Henin, says he believes the suspect in that attack was also his captor in Syria.

Henin identified Mehdi Nemmouche Saturday in news magazine Le Point.

(SOUNDBITE) (French) FRENCH JOURNALIST AND FORMER HOSTAGE IN SYRIA, NICOLAS HENIN, SAYING:

"After the arrest of Mehdi Nemmouche for the facts alleged against him by a Brussels judge, I was given a number of audio-visual documents which enabled me to recognize him formally."

Nemmouche was arrested in Marseilles several days after the museum attack.

Apolin Pepiezep, who represented Nemmouche during his extradition proceedings, says there was never any mention of Syria.
