The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has offered his grief and sorrow on the deaths of over forty persons, including women and children, injuring of many people and damage caused to properties as a result of heavy rains in the Punjab. He said that deaths of so many people and destruction of property due to rains and flooding was a national tragedy of considerable magnitude. He said that he was very grieved on the situation. He asked people to offer prayers for those who lost their lives due to rains.
Mr Hussain demanded of the Punjab Government to take every possible step for protecting the life and property of people in cities and districts affected by rain, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Kamoke, Narowal, Kasur, Samndari and Gujranwala. He said that the government must take every possible step to compensate people for their losses and to provide good quality healthcare facilities. He said that pre-emptive steps should be taken to meet any emergency situation.
Mr Hussain prayed Almighty Allah to bless the people who lost their lives and give courage and patience to the bereaved family members.
