football clubs are often accused of forgetting their fans, but Spanish outfit Villarreal are different – after allowing a 13-year-old cancer patient to play for them.
Young fan Gohan has an aggressive form of cancer and had told nurses in hospital that his dream was to play for Villarreal at their El Madrigal stadium one day.
The La Liga club heard about this, and in incredible scenes, allowed him to start their friendly with Celtic.
Gohan was given his own place in the dressing room, a squad number and even got a talking to from the manager before kicking the game off.
