Dunya News - Altaf Hussain asks MQM lawmakers to submit resignations

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Alaf Hussain on Wednesday asked party lawmakers to submit their resignations to Deputy Convener Nadeem Nusrat, Dunya News reported.
MQM has 35 seats in the National Assembly while 51 seats in the Sindh Assembly.
According to sources, MQM parliamentarians have started submitting their resignations at Nine Zero.
Altaf Hussain took the decision after he started that these assemblies have failed to resolve public issues. He termed joint session of the parliament a ‘drama.’
He said no MQM members can become party of such assemblies.
Altaf Hussain gave one week to members of parliament to behave otherwise MQM lawmakers will submit their resignations.
Earlier, the MQM chief summoned meeting of members of all the sectors and units today at Lal Qila Ground Aziz Abad.
The MQM chief stated that he is already sad and worried about country’s prevailing political crisis. He also expressed anger over senior party members for their ‘irresponsible’ and ‘selfish’ behavior.
Altaf Hussain said he will put forward a request to the MQM workers to relieve him of party leadership.
