Iraqi Yazidis experience harsh living conditions as they take refuge in a dusty camp in Syria, where their tents often become too hot to stay in during the day.
The Nowruz camp, some 20 miles (30 kilometers) from the Iraqi border, was opened three months ago for the Syrian refugees. But for the past 10 days the camp has seen an influx of thousands of Iraqi Yazidis.
They fled their homes in Sinjar in northern Iraq more than 10 days ago after being persecuted by Islamic State militants.
Volunteers distribute meals of cooked rice and broth to thousands of refugees, as well as bars of ice.
The Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) helped them escape from Iraq into Syria.
