High ranking members he New Black Panther Party (NBPP) arrived in Ferguson Thursday following the civil unrest caused by the police shooting of African-American teenager Michael Brown. Led by Hashim Nzinga, the NBPP marched through Ferguson followed by protesters carrying placards decrying police violence and accusing them of "mishandling" the investigation into the shooting of Brown.
The NBPP are among many high profile organisations and public figures to speak out against the police shooting and subsequent handling of the investigation in Missouri, alongside the NAACP, the 'hacktivist' Anonymous movement and Reverend Al Sharpton.
Eighteen-year-old Michael Brown was shot dead by a police officer Saturday in Ferguson. Brown was allegedly unarmed at the time of the daylight shooting.
