Recently, the NASA Cassini spacecraft has taken pictures of methane cloud formations and movement over the methane sea known as Ligeia Mare, located on Titan’s northern hemisphere.

Experts say that this weather is overdue according to predictions about summer storm activity on Saturn’s moon, which has seasons lasting about seven Earth years each.
NASA has a released a video compiling the images that were taken hours apart, showing the gradual movement of the clouds.
The wind speeds on Titan were measured to be between 7 to 10 miles per hour.
Elizabeth Turtle, a Cassini imaging team associate at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab in Laurel, Maryland is quoted as saying: "We're eager to find out if the clouds' appearance signals the beginning of summer weather patterns, or if it is an isolated occurrence."
The Cassini-Huygens space probe mission is part of a cooperative project between the European Space Agency, NASA, and the Italian Space Agency.
