Altaf Hussain expresses concern over the siege of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s residence and Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat

Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s founder and leader has expressed concern over the siege of PakistanAwamiTehreek’s Chairman Dr. Tahir ulQadri’sresidence and Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat by Punjab Police in Lahore.
In a statement Mr. Hussain said, “ It appears that the government has not learnt any lesson from the Model Town tragic incident. Once again they have laid siege to Dr. Qadri’s residence and Minhaj-ul-Quran Secretariat by using the power of police and administration, which is causing worry.”
Mr. Hussain also condemned the raids on the houses of Pakistan AwamiTehreek’s leaders and workers and their arrest in several cities of Punjab. He urged the government to show restraint and tolerance and try to solve the issues through dialogue and avoid using power. He added that use of power made situation worse and the country could not afford it.
Mr. Hussain demanded that the government should end the siege of Dr. Tahir ulQadri and Minhajul Quran Secretariat and stop raids and arrests of its workers.
