Hope of finding people alive in what was the village of Ambegaon, has faded.

But still, rescue workers continue to dig through knee-deep mud -- looking for victims of the landslide that wiped away the entire village, Wednesday.

Bodies are carefully transported down a hill of sludge.

"As of now, we have recovered about 60 bodies. And as you know, there were eight live persons. So, the last live person we recovered was day before yesterday, in the evening. Nevertheless, the operation is in full swing."

It's the third day of rescue operations, with more than 100 people still missing.

These women are among them. And neighbors are distraught.

Rain and poor communications have hampered rescue efforts. But despite fears that the rains could trigger another landslide, the digging continues in the hopes that survivors will be found.
