Mustansar Hussain TaaraR once asked me while sitting in my music studio, "Whats the difference between the singing of Noor Jehan & Lata?" I took it seriously and started narrating technical points like Lata is a typical Music Director's Lady and she strictly follows him upto perfection of adhesion to Sur-Taal ..whereas Noor Jehan is innovative..she enlarges the whole canvas of the song by herself painting additional colors of voice which the Music Director might never have dreamed of.. Seeing my philosophical approach TaaraR sb checked me by raising hand and said "Lata aur Noor Jehan ki gayeki mein sirf Kameengi ka farq hay" :-D
