David Beckham gets gold slimed at first Kids' Choice Sports Awards

STORY: David Beckham and his two sons Romeo and Cruz were given the golden treatment at the first ever Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards on Thursday (July 17).
The trio walked the "orange" carpet before the event, which was attended by other top sportsmen and women and watched by an audience of children and pre-teens.
On the carpet, Beckham said: "That's why it's so special to receive awards from children, from kids, and from fans, because they are truly honest people, so you know that you kind of really deserve an award if you get voted for by the kids."
The British soccer star was accepting the blimp-shaped "Legend" award from two of his sons when they were sprayed with "golden" slime, which is a different hue to Nickelodeon's usual green variety slime.
Beckham slipped and slid on the stage while the audience laughed along.
