Winds of up to 129 kilometres per hour tore through western Michigan on Monday, spawning a tornado which injured at least six people.

The severe weather wreaked destruction over an area of almost 10 square kilometres, knocking down trees and power line, ripping roofs off houses and causing at least two homes to collapse, according to local mayor Stephen Kepley.
