A Detroit Tigers drinks vendor is receiving quite a bit of credit for catching a foul ball with his ice-filled tub. Instead of keeping the ball for himself, the soft-hearted vendor handed it off to a young fan.

The ball was hit by Ian Kinsler during the bottom of the eighth inning. The ball soared over the third base dugout.

The vendor saw it coming, but didn’t seem to put much effort into lining his bucket up with it. After the ball landed in the container, he looked around making it appear as though he wasn’t sure where it went.

After the surprising catch, a woman tried to approach the vender from behind and snatch the ball, but he turned in the other direction and gave it to the child. When applause poured in for the vendor, he smiled and took a bow.

Now, he’s being referred to as “the best beer vendor around.”

This is actually the second time in as many months that a vendor caught a foul ball. In late May, the catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies hit a ball that landed in a beer bucket being carried on top of a vendor’s head.
