'Transformers' transforms box office with $100 mln opening

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" transformed the box office, raking in $100 million, according to studio estimates.

It represents the year's biggest opening weekend at the box office that jump-started a sleepy summer of ticket sales.

Meanwhile, "22 Jump Street" starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, ranked second at the box office with $15.4 million in its third week in movie theaters.

And third at the box office -- "How to Train Your Dragon 2" that brought in $13.1 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales.
