Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has asked the Ivory Coast manager to allow him to play Yaya and Kolo Toure in the FA Cup third round meeting with Manchester United on Sunday.

The pair are due to report for Africa Cup of Nations duty on Saturday before a two-week training camp in Abu Dhabi.

"We have asked whether Kolo and Yaya can stay with us and then they can go to Abu Dhabi," Mancini said .

"We are waiting for an answer and I expect to know today or tomorrow."
