Andre Villas-Boas is confident Chelsea will qualify the last 16 of the Champions League, despite Wednesday's 2-1 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen.

The Blues must win or keep a clean sheet in their final group game against Valencia if they are to progress.

The Chelsea boss said: "It's in our hands to qualify. It's a game at home and we expect to do our job.

"That's our responsibility and we don't want to let the fans down. We will need Stamford Bridge completely behind us."

Wednesday's 2-1 defeat by Bayer Leverkusen continued Chelsea's poor run of form.

They have now lost four of their last seven matches, are 12 points behind Manchester City in the Premier League and joint second in Champions League Group E, with their fate resting on their final game.

Villas-Boas admitted confidence among his players was low and said his key task now is to lift them.
