Everton vs Spurs 1-0 | Redknapp Hails Moyes | English Premier League 2012

SPURS boss Harry Redknapp paid a heartfelt tribute to David Moyes as the 10th anniversary of his appointment as Everton FC manager looms.

And the so-called England-manager elect claimed that people shouldn't be surprised when Everton FC upset the top four clubs at Goodison, after they added Tottenham to a list which includes Manchester City and Chelsea this season.

"He's done a fantastic job here has David. A great job," said Redknapp.

"Everton are a big club. We're not talking about one of the smaller clubs here, are we?

"Everton is a great football club. I'm getting old and I remember Alec Young and all them people. Then you remember the great teams after that of Joe Royle and the great teams with people like Lineker and Reidy.

"They've always had great teams. This is a big club. Everton's not a small club. It's a proper football club. One of the great clubs in English football."

But Redknapp insisted his side should still have won on Saturday.

"The verdict was they scored a goal in the first half and we battered them in the second," he explained.

"I thought we had commitment in the first half but we didn't close them, we didn't press them all over the park. They didn't create an awful lot, they got the goal but it wasn't as if our keeper was over-worked in the first half.

"But second half we picked the pace up and got after them and really it was one-way traffic. I don't think they came out of their half."
