Toyota Etios Cross Vs Volkswagen Cross Polo | Specifications Comparison

Crossover or Hatchback -- are quite difficult options to choose a one from. Judging between them, we Indians are from the first set of customers to experience the "hatchback turned crossover" segmentation. Doing a comparison between the segment originator in India -- the Volkswagen Cross Polo, and second arrival in the list -- the Toyota Etios Cross, let's see who wins the battle in specification numbers.
Pricing:
Volkswagen Cross Polo was launched for Rs 7.75 in a single diesel variant, while the Toyota Etios Cross came tagged at Rs 7.4 lakh for the top-end diesel trim. Hopefully, not many differences can be noticed between the pricing of both.
Power:
Under the hoods Volkswagen Cross Polo dons a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder diesel engine. Comparatively, Toyota Etios Cross cranks up a bigger 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. The Toyota crossover is tuned to deliver maximum power of 68 Pferdestärke, where being small in size, the Volkswagen hatch-turned-crossover bolsters slightly more power of 75 Pferdestärke.
Space:
Spacing it evenly, Volkswagen has stretched Cross Polo to the maximum limit, measuring at 3987mm. It is only some millimeters shorter than the regulatory size of 4 meter. The Toyota Etios Cross falls short here at 3775 mm.
On the width, Cross Polo is better; but in the height it is budged slightly than Etios, likewise the wheelbase.
Verdict:
The final words make it clearly visible, Volkswagen ticked more boxes with the maximalist attitude on numbers front. And rightly, it has the loads of features with qualitative experience. On the other hand, Toyota Etios Cross is the best value for money, ranging from the designing aspect and aesthetics, but, it too doesn't come lugged with standard safety features like the Volkswagen Cross Polo.
So, both the cars are good in their space, the difference is customers' preference, they can choose of going with Germans, or the Japanese.
