Teen booted from prom over dress, claims lustful dads ogled her

A 17-year-old Virginia girl name Clare was kicked out of a prom for homeschool students held at a Methodist church because organizers said her dress was too short and her dancing was too provocative.
When Clare first arrived at the Richmond Homeschool Prom, an organizer told her, "Honey, that dress is too short." Clare had to prove that her dress was of the required "fingertip" length before she was allowed to enter the ballroom.
The dancefloor was filled with girls wearing dresses shorter than hers but she stood out because she's 5 feet 9 inches tall. She wrote on her sister's blog "Wine & Marble" that her friends were "a little grossed out" by the group of dads "ogling and talking amongst themselves" from the balcony.
Claire said that she was only swaying to the music and talking to her friends for a few minutes before she was asked to leave.
The organizer who questioned her earlier approached Clare on the dance floor and told her that she was dancing "too provocative" and may cause the young men in attendance to have "impure thoughts."
Clare was forced to leave and her friends accompanied her, although she was the only one of them to receive a refund.
The homeschool prom was held at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. The Facebook page for the Richmond Homeschool Prom was taken down after a flurry of negative comments were posted.
