A woman in Australia recently gave birth to conjoined twins, although the little girls, named Hope and Faith, aren’t exactly twins as they share the same body.

The medical condition is known as diprosopus. Hope and Faith share one head, one set of limbs and one heart, but aside from that, they have different brains and their own set of facial features.

The girls’ parents, Renee Young and Simon Howie were informed 19 weeks into the pregnancy that the twins would be born with cranialfacial duplication.

32 weeks into the pregnancy, Young gave birth to the girls via an emergency c-section. According to Howie, Hope and Faith are doing well. They’re reportedly eating and breathing without difficulties.

Although they are still in the hospital, the parents are hoping they can take the girls home soon to their 7 other children. Howie remarked ‘Even though there is only one body, we call them our twins. To us, they are our girls and we love them.’
