In the not too distant future, we probably won’t be seeing much of Derek Jeter, at least not on the baseball field. The New York Yankees’ captain is retiring.

At a recent game between the Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels, Jeter received a pretty sweet gift. In what could very well be Jeter’s final game at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, the opposing team decided to honor him.

The Angels showed a video filled with highlights throughout Jeter’s career. Right after that, team members brought out the huge pinstriped paddleboard for him.

Stamped on the board is The New York Yankees’ logo. Going just by his smile when he received the gift, he is thrilled.

This makes it the second time a team has honored Jeter on their own turf. The Astros previously gave him golf clubs, golf lessons and of all things, cowboy boots.

Both gifting ceremonies were short, only lasting a matter of minutes, per Jeter’s request so the festivities don’t cut into his pregame routine too much. As for the actual game against the Angels, Jeter got a few more unexpected presents.

Jeter's lazy fly ball was dropped during the first inning and his ball, hit during the fourth inning was missed. In the end, the Yankees walked away with a 9-2 victory.
