Human Trafficking scam masks as beauty pageant

Twenty-three year old Yeh Hai Wei (葉海威) was on the verge of being sold as a sex slave when she attended a beauty pageant called "Face of World" in Johannesburg, South Africa. Held by a forty-year-old Nigerian, Buchis George, the contest was in fact a scam used for human trafficking. Upon her arrival in Johannesburg, Yeh and five other contestants were confined in small rooms and served spoiled food. She immediately contacted her family who then sought help at the South African Embassy. Police have found that George has played the same tricks before, holding a similar beauty contests in Cape Town. The sponsors were found existing in name only.

George and his partners are currently in custody while the case in under police investigation.
