Reuters journalist Jason Szep celebrates Pulitzer Prize

It's the top honor every journalist aspires to.

And after the Pulitzer Prize winners were announced in New York, Reuters had a reason to celebrate.

Reuters journalist Jason Szep is floored by his Pulitzer for international reporting on the violent persecution of Rohingyas in Myanmar.

"Disbelief, disbelief, I mean I heard one of our reporters said, 'Jason, you've won a prize.' And I said, 'What?' And I wandered down to where this reporter was, looked on the web page that was up and it was the Pulitzer web page and still I didn't believe it when I saw it."

He and fellow reporter Andrew R.C. Marshall scooped the agency's first Pulitzer for text reporting.

In their efforts to flee Myanmar, the Rohingya often fall victim to human-trafficking. An issue Szep hopes will garner more attention.
