Reform school counselor charged with lewd conduct and molestation

The Mito District Public Prosecutors Office arrested a 34-year-old guidance counselor this past Thursday for violating the Child Welfare Law.
The suspect, Yasumasa Minato, is the guidance counselor of Ibaraki Nohgei Agricultural School, a reform school in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture. He is accused of getting his rocks off with an underage boy from the school.
What's more, he is also allegedly dating with another boy who already left the school, which while not illegal, is against the school's policy. As a result, the Tokyo Juvenile Reform Department has accused him of lewd behaviour..
The suspect has been working as a counselor since 2005 and helped reformed boys find places to work and live.
